✨ A few days ago, I was speaking with one of my spiritual teachers, a wise elder. In the middle of my sharing, she looked at me with such compassion and said:

“Of course you are frustrated and angry. There is all this grief underneath.”

Her words landed like truth piercing through the fog. So often, what rises to the surface in us—frustration, anger, irritability—are only the guardians of something deeper. Beneath the fire lives the water of grief, asking to be felt, honored, and released.

This reminder softened me. It helped me to stop judging my anger and instead see it as a doorway, pointing me toward what was really asking for my attention.

And the medicine she offered? Chanting. Letting sound move through me, vibrating the heart, melting the walls around my grief. Chanting brought a deep release and opened space for healing and peace.

💫 Sometimes the most healing thing we can do is pause and ask ourselves: What’s underneath?
